The world of dating is already a difficult one the navigate. If one adds in religion, it can become even more complicated. However, there are many ways of honoring the Christian way of dating while still having fun. The Christian way of dating can allow a couple to get to know each other while still respecting the rules that Christians are supposed to follow.

•The first step of successfully dating like a Christian is for an individual to be sure they are dating a like minded Christian. Some Christians do not care about limiting themselves to just one religion. However, even if a Christian thinks that dating out side of the religion is harmless, the evening may not turn into one date. There is always the chance of a real connection. One should also keep in mind that dating another Christian may be easier because the beliefs shared will be similar. It is also important for an individual to date the other Christian because they genuinely like them. Christians are not supposed to consider superficial things like money or looks when picking a prospective partner. One should find another Christian that they feel will treat them with respect.

•Although there are many things that a Christian courtship can not include, there are still plenty of things to do. Christians should make sure that the locations of their dates honor their religious way of life. Some movies, concerts or nightclubs should be considered off limits. Other activities can be just as fun. Christian rock concerts can be a good way to have fun. Clean movies with no bad language, violence or sexual contact may also be a good date idea for Christians. The most important things is that a Christian should not alter their personality to impress their potential mate. Engaging in an activity that one does not want to do can be very self destructive.

•One of the most difficult aspects of Christian dating is the fact that premarital sex and sexual contact is a sin. Many Christians do not agree on where the line should be drawn, in terms of what constitutes sexual contact. There is a good rule of thumb to go by that many Christians follow. Any activity, even kissing, that one feels might potentially lead to sexual intercourse should be avoided. If a Christian knows that they can handle kissing and cuddling without having it lead to sex, then they may want to do that. If a Christian knows that a kiss will lead to fornication, then the religious reaction would be to not participate at all.

Many Christians think that dating is difficult while following the rules of their religion. It should be noted that most other religions agree that premarital sex is a sin. However, a Christian might find the strict rules of dating were worth it if the relationship turns into a healthy marriage.
